In designing your back-yard-landscape you'll want to include those things that your family life revolves around.

Perhaps you'll want a pool, or a water feature. Of course, you'll probably want a patio or deck along with a firepit for the family to sit around as you toast marshmellows or cook hot dogs.

I always make a design plan of your backyard which includes the above, plus electrical needs for special lighting needs, as well as plumbing for water features and placement of any walkways and other things you want.
